In September 1956, after nearly a year
of planning and preparation, the Wethersfield Volunteer Ambulance
Association went into service. The Wethersfield Volunteer Ambulance
Association (WVAA) is one of the oldest all volunteer ambulance
services in New England. WVAA currently has many active members
who give freely of their personal time to serve the community.
All volunteers are certified to at least the CPR - Driver level,
though most of the members are EMT certified. Paramedic services
are provided by Aetna Ambulance, who is contracted to the Town
of Wethersfield through WVAA. |
